We have a unique opportunity to help build a better world: through our infrastructure solutions, we combat water scarcity and strengthen urban resilience. With our building solutions, we move toward energy-independent living, and in agriculture, we help conserve precious resources and protect our soil for future generations.

In addition to actively contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we have set our own ambitious environmental targets.

Our “Sustainability Roadmap 2015–2020” reflects our ongoing commitment to increase the use of recycled plastics in production while reducing water, energy, and electricity consumption, as well as lowering CO₂ emissions year after year.

The 2020 targets were successfully achieved — once again, ahead of schedule. You can learn more in Wienerberger’s award-winning sustainability report, which outlines the Group’s overall sustainability strategy and commitments.

Public concern about plastic waste in the environment is growing. While most pollution comes from improperly discarded bottles and packaging, some originates from resin pellets used in manufacturing.

To help prevent this, Plastics Europe introduced the Zero Pellet Loss Initiative, which became part of the global Operation Clean Sweep® program in 2015.

Many of our production sites have already adopted these measures, and all Pipelife facilities have committed to installing pellet filters, ensuring cleaner operations and helping protect our environment from plastic waste.
