Engineered piping solutions for potable water, natural gas distribution, and cable protection systems - produced in Turkiye under global Wienerberger standards.
Pipelife Turkiye PE systems support multiple joining methods depending on project requirements, pipe diameter, operating conditions, and installation environment.
Method 1 - Electrofusion Welding
Ideal for secure, high-integrity joints in infrastructure networks where installation precision and connection reliability are essential.
A typical electrofusion (EF) welding cross-section demonstrates the integrated heating coil within the coupling, ensuring uniform fusion between pipe and fitting. This technique is a simple and cost-effective joining method, successfully used for pipe diameters ranging from 20 mm to 110 mm.
Method 2 – Butt Welding
Preferred for joining same-diameter PE pipes in larger infrastructure applications, providing strong, durable, and reliable welded connections.
In this method, the pipe ends to be joined are heated simultaneously using an electrically heated plate (hot element), ensuring uniform melting of both surfaces. Thanks to this technique, pipes with diameters of 90 mm and above can be welded successfully.
Method 3 – Mechanical / Threaded Connection
Suitable for selected service conditions and fittings-based applications where detachable connections or specific technical requirements are needed.
In this method, pipes are connected using mechanical fittings such as threaded or compression components, allowing easy installation and disassembly.Compression fittings (coupling adaptors) can typically withstand pressures up to 16 bar; however, they are not recommended for pipe diameters exceeding 110 mm.
Method 4 – Flanged Connection
Used when PE pipe systems need to connect to valves, pumps, metal pipelines, or other network components.
In this method, a flange adaptor is welded to the pipe and connected to the corresponding component using bolts and a gasket to ensure sealing. This technique provides a strong and demountable connection, especially in mixed-material systems.
Method 5 – Socket Welding
Practical for compatible applications and selected smaller-diameter PE pipe conditions.
In this method, the outer surface of the pipe and the inner surface of the fitting are heated up to approximately 250°C, then the pipe is inserted into the fitting and held in position without movement until cooling is completed. For pipe diameters above 63 mm, mechanical equipment is required to ensure proper alignment and connection quality. This solution is generally preferred for smaller diameters and specific application requirements.
